Privacy Notification

We have been appointed by your insurer to manage your claim on their behalf. We are writing to inform you that we have collected your personal information indirectly from your insurer. In this letter we summarize our practices and your rights under Privacy Act 2020.

Information collected

Your name, contact details, names and contact details of your authorised representatives, loss address, loss type and description, policy details, photographs or available reports from loss adjusters or contractors that attended your property as well as any other relevant existing claim information and documentation.

The purpose of collection

• Identify you and keep in contact with you
• Provide project management services for your insurance claims and property repairs
• Liaise with your insurer, broker, property manager as well as our contractors, consultants, and suppliers to progress your claim
• Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for your insurance claim
• Manage repair, rebuild and restoration projects for your property
• Provide advice on building methodology and remediation matters for your property

Please note that during your claim and our engagement we may create personal information about you as well as collect additional personal information for the abovementioned purposes from:

• Your insurance company
• Your broker or property manager
• Body corporate manager
• Co-policyholders and co-owners of your property
• Other third parties authorised by you to provide your personal information to us
• Builders, consultants, contractors and loss adjusters engaged to provide services during your claim process
• Public sources, including councils, Land Information New Zealand, New Zealand Companies Office as well as other publicly available internet sources like Google Maps and realtor websites

Who we may share it with

Your personal information may be disclosed to, and collected by, each insurer listed below for the purposes set out in the insurer’s privacy statement, including to assess your application for insurance (if applicable). You can refer to each insurer’s website to locate its address and to its Privacy Statement for further information about your rights to access and request correction of your personal information held by the insurer.
